Urban Decay - Naked Smoky

Since Urban Decay has landed in Belgium, it has landed in my collection too. Today I'm showing you all the details of the newest member of the Naked line, Naked Smoky. But that's not all, I'm also showing you my favorite color of the Matte Revolution lipsticks!

First of all, packaging.
Packaging is so important to me and Urban Decay has nailed it. This one is very different from the other palettes (in more ways than the packaging). It's fully made of sturdy plastic with a gorgeous, smoky front. The packaging looks and feels quite luxurious. Very pretty!

There are 12 different colors in the palette. Mattes (Thirteen, Whiskey, Combust, Password), glitters (High, Armor) and satins (Dirtysweet, Radar, Slanted). Dagger, Black Market and Smolder are in-between mattes and satin, so let's call them demi-mattes. There is more variation in shades in this palette than in the other Naked's. Purple, grey, blue, pink, champagne,... You can make so many looks out of this palette, it's definitely a versatile one.

It also comes with a double ended brush that we know from the previous palettes.

A lot of swatches of course, in natural lightning and with flash. The pigmentation is really good. The mattes are well pigmented, the satins and especially the glitter eyeshadows are very well pigmented. Radar and Combust are exceptions, and are the least pigmented.

My personal favorites are High, Armor, Slanted and Dagger. These are the ones I have used the most ever since I got it, for the classic grey smoky eye!

(Some of the eyeshadows have some fallout, so I always tap the brush first before I apply it.)

A lipstick that was on my wishlist was After Dark from the Matte Revolution line. This color just stood out for me, an original fuchsia pink that I didn't have yet. I recently got it and boy, it does not disappoint!

The quality of the lipsticks that I try is always good, so the bar has been set very high. Trying out high-end brands results in phrases like "very well pigmented, easy to apply,...". But I haven't been this impressed with a lipstick since my Tom Ford lipsticks. This one is ultra smooth and amazingly well pigmented. When I first swatched it was just love at first sight. The color has a certain shine in it (still matte of course, although maybe more demi-matte...) and it changes color in different lighting.

I'm impressed, in love and I want more!

Urban Decay - Naked Smoky (€49,90)
Urban Decay - Matte Revolution Lipstick in After Dark (€23,70)

The Naked Smoky palette was just as I expected it to be: great colors, a nice pigmentation and with a gorgeous packaging. The Matte Revolution lipstick is so much better than I expected. Such an original color, soft feeling and easy to apply. I really need some more of these, wishlisted: Blackmail and Bad Blood.

Once again, I'm fan Urban Decay!

What do you think about these products and the swatches?

Love, Rani

  5. The palette and the lipstick are gorgeous, but if i had to choose between just a naked palette or the smokey one, i would choose the normal one. I'm not that into smokey eyes, at least not for daily! but the colors looks beautiful and especially the lipstick is beautiful!
