MAC x Caitlyn Jenner

I'm pretty sure you know who Caitlyn Jenner is. Even if you don't keep up with the Kardashians, you probably heard about Kylie, Kim, Kendall,... and Caitlyn. And that same Caitlyn Jenner created a shade for MAC Cosmetics, called 'Finally Free'.

Caitlyn Jenner was born as Bruce Jenner, but has recently shared her transition with the world. Her new MAC Lipstick, Finally Free, champions All Ages, All Races and All Sexes. And not unimportant, 100% of the selling price goes to the MAC AIDS Fund Transgender Initiative, to further its work in support of transgender communities.

The lipstick is called 'Finally Free', because Caitlyn wanted a name that would represent her and the community. She said: "No more secrets. I’m free. I woke up the other morning, and I was just happy. Getting dressed, going out, I’m accepted in the world; people are nice. Life is good. I’m Finally Free."

Finally Free is a midtown rosy nude with a cremesheen finish. She said this on the question why she picked this color: "I wanted a lipstick that would be universal, suited to more people, and was an everyday lipstick, not just a high-glam, once-in-a-while kind of lipstick. I like a little colour on my lips, not a lot during the day. And this rosy nude is the colour I’ve gone to. To be honest, I want people to use it every day so they have to buy more. I want to raise a lot of money. It’s very simple."

On the swatch you can see the brown undertone very well, on my lips it's definitely more of a pink color. It is exactly a 'my lips but better color' for me, as it looks like my natural color and completely melts with it. The cremesheen finish makes it more subtle, a wash of color. The lipstick doesn't feel dry and needs a retouch after dinner.

MAC x Caitlyn Jenner - Finally Free (€21)

I really see why Caitlyn went for this color, I'm sure it will suit almost every skin type. And indeed, it is a color for everyday use - a rosy nude that fits everything and finishes of your look without pulling too much attention to it. Subtle, but good!

The lipstick will be available from tomorrow (28 april) and it's an online exclusive. Don't forget that 100% of the proceeds from Finally Free will go to the MAC AIDS Fund Transgender Initiative.

What do you think about this color? Are you a fan?

Love, Rani
