I went with Thalys on a trip to discover the city of Lille. I've never been in Lille before, but it's a beautiful city. Take a look:
We departed at Brussels, and in only 35 minutes we arrived at Lille. A citytrip doesn't have to be far away! ;)
We had coffee in a café called 'Basilic Café', a lovely place where the group also had dinner that night.
After coffee we met our guide, she gave us a tour around the must sees in Lille. It's a beautiful city with all kinds of different architecture. It used to be a part of Belgium for a long time.
Around 12 p.m. it was time for lunch at the Tripostal. We went for a veggie salad and as dessert a moelleux (yum!).
There is currently an exposition in the Tripostal: 'Passions Secretes'. This was definitely the highlight of my day. I love art, and we go very often to different expositions, so I was happy that this exposition was planned.
What makes this exhibition special is that the collection consists of the art of eighteen art collectors living in Kortrijk (Belgium), whose collections are both brilliant and unknown.
And yes ladies, Lille is also great for shopping! There are all kinds of stores from Hermès to ZARA to a big shopping mall! And I finally, finally found the perfect hat. Big yay! I bought it at ZARA Home. There was also a big store called 'Printemps' where they had all kinds of labels; from this cute Chanel nail polish to Givenchy bags.

Beautiful pictures! I was totally sucked in to all of the architecture pictures but then promptly forgot about them when I got to those amazing art pictures. It looks like you had a great visit. I love visiting new cities.
